The Certificate in Business Studies is completed during the fall OR spring semester of the second year of the Bachelor in International Business (BIB) program. Students who validate 30 ECTS credits incl the language class in semester 1 or 32,5 ECTS credits incl the language class in semester 2 will receive the Certificate in Business Studies CBS.

Students must have validated 60 ECTS credits to be able to begin this semester program.

Certificate in International Business (CIB): Fall Semester of year 3

CIB available both on Grenoble and Paris Campuses

The CIB is available during the first semester of the third year of the Bachelor in International Business (BIB) program. Students who validate 30 ECTS credits incl the language class will receive the Certificate in International Business CIB.

Students must have validated 120 ECTS credits to be able to begin this semester program.

Specialisation Certificate: Spring Semester of year 3

The Specialisation Certificates are available during the second semester of the third year of the Bachelor in International Business (BIB) program. Students who validate 30 ECTS credits incl the language course will receive a Certificate according to the Specialisation chosen.

Students must have validated 120 ECTS credits to be able to begin this semester program.

Upon completion of the program, you will be able to:

• Understand the competitive positioning’s and strategies of international companies
• Determine a marketing and sales action plan.
• Master data analysis.
• Be capable of analysing the financial situation of a company.
• Be able to work and communicate in a multi-cultural work group.

Evaluation

Typically, students are assigned 15-18 hours of interactive face to face teaching per week and are expected to work 30 hours outside the classroom. This includes pre-reading and preparation for class, homework and group/individual assessments. In groups of 3-5, students work on presentations, essays and projects in order to learn about the current challenges and decisions facing managers and business leaders today. International student work groups meet on a frequent basis.

Pedagogy

Verification of skills and competences acquired through continuous assessment and exams.

  • Candidates must complete the online application and include scanned copies of all original supporting documents. All documents must be in English or French or be submitted with a certified translation into English if written in another language.

    • High school diploma, Baccalaureat, minimum of three "A" levels or equivalent.
    • CBS - 60 ECTS credits (of which 30 ECTS are business-related subjects)
    • CIB - 120 ECTS credits (of which 60 ECTS are business-related subjects)
    • Certificates: Spring semester - 120 ECTS credits (of which 60 ECTS are business-related subjects) and prerequisites (please check Certificates: Spring Semester section)
    • University transcripts (front / back with scale)
    • CV/Resume
    • 3 short essays (relating to your academic/professional experience, your reasons for choosing this program and your intercultural awareness)
    • 2 academic references. Family members or friends are not acceptable as referees
    • Scan of passport
    • Internationally recognized passport picture
    • Fluency in English (TOEFL, PTE, IELTS or CPE):
      • TOEFL: Computer-based: 240 / Internet-based (IBT): 94 (minimum score of 22 in Reading and Speaking; minimum score of 21 in Listening and Writing). TOEFL Institution code: 8973
      • IELTS Academic: 6.5 with a minimum of 6.0 in all areas (Listening, Reading, Writing and Speaking)
      • Cambridge Proficiency Exam (CPE): A,B,C
      • Pearson Test of English Academic (PTE-A): 63 (minimum score of 59 in each section)
      • Not accepted: TOEIC, Institutional/ITP TOEFL, Cambridge English: Advanced (CAE) and Cambridge English: First (FCE)

    Please note English test scores must be communicated to GEM by the beginning of July for September programs and by the beginning of November for January programs.

    Please note that for your initial application we ask only for copies of documents. If you are accepted, we will then request to send digital certified copies that you will be asked to present during the induction week. More details about certified copies per nationality are explained on the application form.

    To ensure GEM is the right fit for you, you may be asked to participate in an interview. You will be notified if an interview is necessary after the Admission Board meets.

Note

All academic qualifications, including those earned at GEM, are recognized at the discretion of each country or university. Students seeking admission to a further course of study or who wish to work in specific country after their GEM program may need to have their GEM degree certified through a process specified by the receiving authority. 

INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS
Visa requirements may apply to International Students in order to study or work in France. All international students are expected to verify requirements with their local French consulate and plan accordingly. Grenoble Ecole de Management has no influence over this process.
