New York Model United Nations: 18 students of Grenoble Ecole de Management at NYC

New York Model United Nations : Grenoble Ecole de Management au siege des Nations Unies

The GEM ONU association will attend, with the support of Grenoble Ecole de Management, the National Model United Nations (NMUN), from April 01 to 10, 2022, in New York. The delegation, composed of 18 students members of the association, will represent the Republic of Haiti in several committees of the United Nations. This is a unique opportunity for these students to discover the world of diplomacy and to develop their negotiation and communication skills in an international setting.

What is the NMUN?

The New York Model United Nations is the largest UN simulation in the world, attracting nearly 5,000 participants from 126 countries to the UN headquarters each year. It is a unique experience, giving the students from all over the globe a voice, in the heart of world diplomacy, as well as to imagine solutions to the major challenges of the 21st century.

Participating in the NMUN means being immersed for 5 days in a highly international environment, developing skills in terms of eloquence and living an enriching experience with various meetings and negotiations with students from all over the world.

What is a Model United Nations?

A Model United Nations (MUN) is a multilateral diplomacy role-playing practice that simulates the work of the United Nations to introduce students to the roles of global institutions. During this experience, participants work in teams to defend a country's position on a negotiation issue. The objective is to negotiate in order to reach a consensus on a resolution on a subject that has been decided beforehand.

GEM ONU is the geopolitics association of Grenoble Ecole de Management created in 2017. The association aims to promote international relations and diplomacy to every students through a wide range of events. Among the most important, the GEM Model United Nations. It is a representation of the United Nations which brings every year about a hundred students from many French institutions together for 2 days of negotiations in Grenoble. GEM United Nations is also at the initiative of the weekly publication of articles and videos on geopolitical topical themes in order to make this subject accessible to everyone.
