Living in Grenoble

As part of a metropolis of 450,000 people, Grenoble is a unique city with a particularly enjoyable living environment. Every year, the city is one of the top five cities for students according to the magazine L’Etudiant.

Surrounded by mountains, Grenoble is a paradis for outdoor and sports activities. The Chamrousse and les 7 Laux ski resorts are located less than 45 minutes from the city center and attract many students. Grenoble is also the flattest city in France, a real paradis for cyclists with more than 320 kilometers of bike paths.

Cultural life in Grenoble is abundant thanks to numerous museums (Musée de Grenoble, Musée Dauphinois, etc.), concert halls (MC2, la Belle Electrique, l'Hexagone, Le Summum, etc.), major events (Cabaret Frappé, Coupe Icare, Rocktambule, Festival du cinéma de montagne, etc.) and student events.

An innovative region

Grenoble has always been recognized for its unique innovation model based on close ties amongst universities, companies, laboratories and local authorities. The Grenoble ecosystem, of which GEM is an active member, has many strengths that enable it to solve global innovation challenges. Some notable companies in the ecosystem include: STMicroelectronics, Schneider Electric, HP, EDF, BD, Caterpillar, Capgemini, PETZL, POMA, Teisseire, Soitec…

Remember to check out Le Dahu
