DR. AMIT KAPOOR
is Professor of Strategy at Management Development Institute; Honorary Chairman at Institute for Competitiveness studying firms, clusters and economies; Director for The Competitiveness Institute, Sloan Affiliate; and member of the Collective. He is an affiliate faculty for the Microeconomics of Competitiveness & Value Based Health Care Delivery courses of Institute of Strategy and Competitiveness, Harvard Business School. He offers the course at Management Development Institute, Gurgaon. Prior to his appointment with MDI, Gurgaon he was with IIM, Lucknow and has also been the Chief Economist with Datamonitor PLC.
Amit is a Ph.D. in Industrial Economics and Business Strategy and an accomplished academician and has received the ESSID Scholarship and MIT DCA Scholarship. Amit has been a faculty and consultant in the domain of strategy, innovation and competitiveness. He is a Ruth Greene Memorial Award winner for writing the best case of the year, by North American Case Research Association (NACRA). He has been invited by Kennedy School of Government & Harvard Law School, Harvard University; World Economic Forum at its India Economic Summit and Asia Summit to present his views on various issues and themes like strategy, outsourcing and economic development. Amit has been a resource for journalists and expert committees.
He has made contemporary contribution towards thought on dynamics of evolution of firms and impact of regulation on the performance of firms. His research interest lies in the fields of Enhancing Competitiveness, Competitive Advantage and Leveraging Technology for Success. Amit is the author of India City Competitiveness Report, India State Competitiveness Report, India State Sustainability Report et al. In addition he has written numerous cases, memos, reports, articles in academic journals and popular media publications like Images Retail, Outlook Business, Realty Plus, Economic Times, Business Standard, Hindu Business Line etc. He writes a column for Outlook Business and runs an exceptionally successful interview series with the magazine titled “StratSpeak“. Amit has worked with organizations like Intel, PepsiCo, Airtel during his consulting assignments.
DR. MARK ESPOSITO
He is an Economics of Strategy and Sustainability expert and focus on systems dynamics and complexity in all industries. His attention in all my projects and researches is on the development of sustainable thought and action in all facets of organizational and human performance and to this extent, he has founded the Lab-Center for Competitiveness, in affiliation with the MOC program developed at the Institute for Strategy and Competitiveness, at the Harvard Business School.
Mark currently works as Associate Professor of Business in Society for Grenoble Ecole de Management, and a lecturer at Harvard University.
Mark serves in the faculties of Universities worldwide and he is an appointed Research Fellow for the Institute of Competitiveness in India, as well as Research Fellow for the Center of Sustainability & Business at Ashridge Business School. In 2012, he has been profiled by the Financial Times as “Professor of the Week”, contributing with 3 terms to their FT Lexicon.
DR. OLIVIER CATEURA
PhD. is Assistant Professor of Strategic Management at Grenoble Ecole de Management (AACSB, EQUIS, AMBA), since 2007. He’s currently Head of the Technology & Strategic Management Department. Since 2010, he is also Head of the Specialized Master in Energy Management & Marketing, he has founded with the Grenoble Institute of Technology (Grenoble INP) and the industrial community (Tenerrdis Energy Cluster). Prior to this, Olivier worked at Electrabel-Suez, (2003-2006) now GDF-Suez, as Chargé de mission in strategy & marketing and at McCann Erickson's Web Agency (1999-2002) as Marketing Consultant and Key Account Manager.
Expert on the energy sector, his research and teaching interests are strategic management, competitive intelligence and innovation management. Doctor in Strategic Management (ERFI - Université Montpellier I), Olivier is also a graduate of the Institut d'Etudes Politiques d'Aix-en-Provence (Sciences Po Aix) and of EMLYON Business School (MSc in Management).
She is a Senior Professor in the department of Management, Technology and Strategy, and Associate Dean for Joint Research at Grenoble Ecole de Management. She teaches the fuzzy front-end of innovation management and techno-entrepreneurship. Her research focuses on the strategic management of disruptive innovations, with an emphasis on foresight, business model innovation and future models of innovation.
She was responsible of the Management, Technology and Strategy department for research and education and she developed the Center for Innovation and Techno-Entrepreneurship within the school. Since 2008, she has founded and developed the Joint Research Activities within the institution with the aim to produce and disseminate advanced knowledge and practices to enhance managers' contribution to regular innovation successes. She supervises and contributes to a series of collaborative research projects led with private companies and also within larger innovation consortium, at the local and European levels. She is a member of the coordination committee of GIANT (Grenoble Innovation Campus) and the school's representative in the KIC Innoenergy (a European Society created in the frame of the Knolwedge Innovation Communities launched by the EIT (European Institute for Innovation and Technology).
Sylvie holds a Master in Business Administration and Management Information Systems and a PhD in Strategic Management from the University of Grenoble, in partnership with the Universities of Geneva and Lausanne. Her doctoral studies were led in close contractual collaborations with high tech companies and research centers with a focus on microtechnologies and ICTs. She received an award from the French National Federation for research and training in management. Then, she joined a consultancy company specialized in technology marketing and business development in the field of microtechnologies.
She is the author or co-author of a dozen books and books' chapters in the area of innovation management. She has published many journal articles and communications at conferences and she also collaborates with top management teams through executive seminars and research projects.
DR. STEPHEN WALSH
He is Associate Professor in the Department of Management and Technology at Grenoble Ecole de Management. He is also an Adjunct Associate Professor in the department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at North Carolina State University, in Raleigh, North Carolina, USA, where he served for over 10 years as the Director of its Engineering Entrepreneurs Program, member of its Entrepreneurship Initiative, and a teaching associate professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering.
Prior to his academic career, Dr. Walsh co-founded BOPS, Inc. with Dr. Gerald Pechanek. BOPS was a venture backed IP semiconductor company specializing in parallel DSP processors. BOPS raised over $70 M USD and had offices in Palo Alto, CA, Austin, TX and in the Research Triangle Park area of NC. He served as its first president and CEO for approximately two years overseeing business development and seed-round funding.
He also held numerous engineering and marketing positions within IBM and was the recipient of IBM's Resident Study Scholarship where he received MS and PhD degrees in electrical engineering from Duke University.
MICHELE COLETTI
He is Affiliated Professor of the Grenoble Ecole de Management. He has experience as a consultant and trainer in a wide range of countries.
Michele has carried out a number of innovation projects and impact assessments for the European Commission and other public bodies. Currently he is the clustering expert for the Provincia di Milano public administration.
Michele is a certified management consultant (CMC) and a Board Member of APCO, the Italian Association of Management Consultants. He holds a MBA with Distinction from the Grenoble Graduate School of Business and a MSc in Technology and Innovation Management from SPRU at the University of Sussex (UK) plus graduate studies (International Summer University) at the Copenhagen Business School.
