INTERNATIONAL PROJECTS

Pioneering change in sustainable energy

Multiannual - UE - EIT KIC INNO ENERGY
At InnoEnergy, sustainability is about more than lowering emissions. True sustainability also means an industry that’s commercially viable, endlessly innovative, and highly competitive. InnoEnergy makes this possible by supporting sustainable energy innovations which provide industry with risk free, pioneering new technologies that reduce energy costs, increase system performance, decrease greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, create jobs, and increase competitiveness.
GEM is involved in different faculty programs of InnoEnergy.
EMINE summer school:
The MSc EMINE programme teaches tomorrow’s nuclear engineers how to address the key technical, social and environmental challenges faced by the industry today and in the future. Going beyond the scope of a traditional nuclear education, the programme helps tomorrow’s engineers understand nuclear power in the context of a diverse energy mix.

Promoting entrepreneurship and innovating in healthy living and active ageing, with the aim to improve quality of life and healthcare across Europe

Multiannual - UE - EIT HEALTH
Demographic change is one of the main challenges European societies are facing today. The growth in the oldest segment of the population, and an increase in chronic diseases, is putting pressure on health and social care costs. EIT Health brings together leading healthcare companies across multiple industry sectors, public and private research centres, and top universities, to create a powerful network of partners with a clear mission: to accelerate entrepreneurship and innovation in healthy living and active ageing by providing Europe’s top talents with new opportunities and resources, for the benefit of all citizens.

GEM is involved in different projects of EIT Health :

There it acquires real-life cardio-respiratory health data for exploitation in drug development and telecardiology. The clinical trial market will be the stepping stone towards outpatient cardiological care – our priority market. We enrich the device by remote monitoring & data exploitation, training & education, and outcome prediction & performance measurement tools. Co-creation at the hearts of clinical contract research & clinical cardiology ensures patient comfort, workflow compatibility and policy compliance. The ambition is to make a significant impact on the real-world effectiveness of treatments by pursuing the convergence of clinical research & clinical care. We will improve the predictive power of clinical trials by 50% and halve the rate of emergency hospitalisations in heart failure patients – leveraging savings in the amount of billions of €.
