The IRT Nanoelec training programme
is launching a call for applications for the 2022 challenge:
Mission A.B.C. (Agent for a Better Cyberlife)

An action to learn how to use new solutions by being "decoder and responsible", "an actor who takes the measure of his responsibility".

(Inspired by Armand Hatchuel's speech, 6 April 2022 - at the launch of the CEA's Societal Impact Community).

Context and challenge

The IRT Nanoelec training programme, jointly run by GEM and G INP, is launching its 2022 Challenge for sustainable microelectronics

Helped by the advent of artificial intelligence, the spread of cameras that observe us aims to significantly improve our security, well-being, health, the quality of our environment, our living conditions and our productivity while preserving the planet and our society.
But this rapid growth also raises new questions about the respect of our private lives, the confidentiality and the use of captured images . Some of us shudder at the idea of indiscreet and massive eavesdropping or grotesque or malicious misappropriation of our personal image.
Faced with this massive deployment of new technologies, "processes of collective intelligence are being implemented, taking advantage of digital technologies to act instead of making claims. They make it possible to identify, from the ground up, solutions that are beyond the reach of those in power."*

The objective of the challenge

From a technological solution integrating a camera and Artificial Intelligence (Exemple:  RAMSES), create a 1'30 minute video or design the storyboard of your video to make people around you want to imitate you and act as you suggest.
To succeed in this challenge, your audience must :
- Understand the possible uses of this technology and the related associated problems.
- Form an opinion about your proposed use of the technology.
- Decide to copy you. Click here to see an example

This video should incorporate the following elements in a clear and understandable way.
- Presentation of the technology: the context of its use ; its potential drawbacks.
- The audiences affected by the technology (those who use it and those who are affected by it).
- Presentation of your proposal with your "How to us " instructions, your motivations for using it well, and your argument to encourage your audience to copy you.

You could join us in an online information and scoping workshop to help you meet this challenge on one of the following dates:
12th September : 5:50pm to 7:00pm
13th September : 5:50pm to 7:00pm
19th September : 5:50pm to 7:00pm
20th September : 5:50pm to 7:00pm

Audience for the videos :
Your social group, those who will want to imitate you, whether they are students, high school pupils, professionals, researchers or teachers. It's up to you to determine the audience and make sure that they identify with your video and project themselves into it.

Who can apply?
The competition is open to everyone. Citizens, students, high school students, professionals, researchers, teachers, take up the challenge individually or collectively, in French or in English.
The best videos will be rewarded and promoted on social networks.

- 4 workshops between 12th September to 20th September
- Deadline for submission of videos: 10th October 2022
- Selection and deliberation of the winners by the challenge jury members: 21st 0ctober 2022
- Award ceremony: autumn 2022
