Florian Kiesel obtained his doctoral level in Economics at the Technical University of Darmstadt, Germany.
He previously studied Mechanical Engineering with Business Administration and worked for two years as Postdoc Researcher at the Chair of Corporate Finance, both at Technical University of Darmstadt. In 2016, he was visiting the Cass Business School in London, and, during his studies, he worked for international companies in Germany and China.
His primary research interest lies in the area of corporate finance and empirical finance, with a special focus on the impact of credit ratings and firm risk. In particular he investigates the relationship between credit rating agency reports and information contained in credit default swap (CDS) spreads. His works also cover regulatory changes and environmental, social, and governance (ESG) factors.
He has published in international journals, such as Applied Economics, Economics Letters or the Quarterly Review of Economics and Finance.
