Stefani Staneva has arguably become one of the youngest authorities on the AIFMD after completing a 22,000 word dissertation on the subject to complete her MSc Finance program entitled, “The impact of AIFMD on UK AIFMs after the official adoption on 22nd July 2013”.
She said the idea behind the project was to discuss UK fund managers’ experiences in the process of becoming AIFMD compliant over the past two years and to present her findings to her employer, Langham Hall UK Depositary. “The research focuses on the main challenges for fund managers and it also identifies the main costs and benefits from AIFMs’ perspective,” added Stefani.
Results from the study could be used by Langham Hall to further bolster its already market-leading understanding of the needs of its depositary clients and to identify any possible improvements to the client relationship.
Stefani began her full time career at Langham Hall in September 2014 having interned at accountancy firm, EY, and after a brief spell at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in her native Bulgaria. She will officially graduate from GGSB’s MSc Finance in March 2016.
