Grenoble Ecole de Management set up its first alumni club in China as the school celebrated its 30th anniversary last weekend.
About 300 Chinese alumni attended a celebration last Saturday. Many have studied MBAs and doctoral degrees at Grenoble Ecole de Management, which has partnerships with eight Chinese universities including Fudan, Tongji and Shanghai Jiao Tong University.
Loick Roche, dean and director, said they chose to cooperate with Chinese schools instead of doing it alone.
“Chinese schools have knowledge about the local market that we don’t have and we each can benefit and become stronger from the partnership,” Roche said.
Roche said the Master in International Business (MIB) is the most popular degree program among Chinese applicants as globalization continues to affect the world business market.
“As more corporations go global, the value of having an international MBA is like speaking a foreign language. The students will be sought after by companies who used to be local and now are extending their business overseas,” Roche said.
