Marcus Davison has extensive experience as an international trainer and lecturer in an exceptionally wide range of financial subjects, ranging from financial decision making and risk management at the strategic level to more technically focused areas in bonds, equities, derivatives, portfolio and risk management, foreign exchange and money markets. He is particularly in demand as a trainer in the application of international accounting standards, with a special emphasis on accounting for financial instruments and derivatives. His training activities for major international and regional banks and corporates take him to Europe, the Middle East, North America, South Africa, and South and East Asia. He is also active as a university lecturer specialising in finance for MBA programmes. He is a visiting professor at the Grenoble Graduate School of Business in France and a visiting lecturer at Royal Holloway University of London. He has a longstanding association with the UK's Open University Business School MBA programme, and has undertaken assignments for Georgetown University (Washington DC). Marcus is co-author, with Janette Rutterford, of the third edition of Professor Rutterford's highly regarded Introduction to Stock Exchange Investment, published by Palgrave Macmillan in 2007. Marcus graduated with first class honours from Oxford University in 1971 and worked for thirty years in a wide variety of positions in banking and finance, including a six-year period as treasurer of a German-based foreign trade bank, before devoting his time exclusively to training, lecturing and writing from 2001 onwards.
